I first worked for Ivy in 1963; I joined her in Germany played the Double Bass and of course I sang. She never auditioned me, so neither she nor I knew what to expect!

I travelled all the way from Norway, where I had been working with a male quartet, to meet Ivy on the Base where we had to work, when she informed me that her Bass player, Una Mellor, had decided to stay! She pointed me to the vocal pads and said "... sort something out for tonight !"

That evening when the band started up with "Lady be good" I was blown away. My first song with the band was "The Lady is a tramp".

I stayed for 6 months and then joined Crissy Lee and Una Mellor in their group " The Beat Chicks". Eventually Crissy and I decided to rejoin Ivy in 1969, where I stayed until 1974 after which I persued a solo career working with, amongst others, Dick Emery and Norman Wisdom.

I am now enjoying retirement in the Lake District, dividing my time between Florida, playing lots of golf and painting.
