Gill Bickley (nee Dennis) started to play with the Ivy Benson Band at 15 years of age, after her father, musician Billy Dennis had taught her to play the saxophone.

The famous London based All Girl Band played all around the globe in nightclubs and at Allied and American Military bases in Europe and North Africa.

Gillian played with the 24 piece band from 1958 to 1966, when she left to marry for the first time. She started a solo career doing the cabaret circuit, but has now settled down away from showbusiness.

She has been a Magistrate in South Tyneside and has had a successful career in the fashion business for many years, working through retail shops and on several markets with her second husband, Tony, a retired professional singer and comedian."Now we do Fashion Shows all over the country" says Gill; "It's a bit like being back in Showbusiness".
