Firm favourites with holidaymakers in Douglas, Ivy Benson and her girls orchestra are back at the Villa Marina.

This is Ivy's seventh successive season in Douglas - which indicates just how popular the entertainment provided by her orchestra is.

All this week they will be providing music for dancing in the Royal Hall and in the afternoons give concerts in the attractive gardens of Villa Marina.

With the band this season is a new vocalist, 21 year old Eileen Stocker, who was "spotted" by Ivy when she appeared on the television show "Go Man Go".

Eileen caters for Rock "n" Roll fans and there is little doubt that she will be a hit in Douglas this season.

Ivy and her girls came straight to the Island from a tour in Germany and Bavaria, where they were a great success.

They provide an excellent variety of music in the afternoon concerts and there is nothing more pleasant on a sunny day than to sit in a deck chair and enjoy the entertainment.

Talent Competitions are a feature, and on Thursday the first of the seasons series of bathing beauty contests which will qualify the winner to go through to the next round of the "Queen of Man" contest with a top prize of £100.
