Overseas Tours

Soon after the end of Second World War, Ivy and the Girls were invited to go to Berlin by Field Marshall Montgomery to play at various venues for the Allied Troops in Germany; he thought his tired soldiers might enjoy the visit; they certainly did - and this tour was the first of many visits to Europe, the Middle East and North Africa where they entertained both UK and American servicemen. A selection of actual Itinaries of the mid 60's period have kindly been provided by Jean Fox; click here to view them.( NB: There appears to be dates which clash - we can only assume that these arrangements were very fluid and changed at short notice.)

We know that many repeat visits were made to Germany, but we believe that tours of Italy, the Middle East, Switzerland and others were made.
